Default Newbie intro

Hi All:

Just checking in for the first time after beginning the 7 Day program.

I'm a jazz singer who at 70 has my first (and self-produced) CD about to come out (which is already available for d/l, samples may be heard at www.cdbaby.com/ellifordyce), am making a feature-length documentary and beginning pre-production for a TV and/or Internet-Video show, living/working in NYC.

Collaborators are welcome.

Best,

Elli Fordyce

Default Looking Good and Sounding Good at 70

Wow, you not only sound good for 70, you look pretty good too, based on the CD's cover!

So I'm curious, you're the second newbie to post to the forum recently. So are you just going through the 7 day program as sort of an independent study. A batch of people, myself included went through all at once in early July where there was the call-in hour each night, I never actually made one, but a lot of people liked having the call-in to increase their motivation.

Now I guess people just sign up and start whenever, but listen to the recorded call-in. Is that how it works?

Just curious. Welcome at any rate. I'm a self-publisher too, but of books, see

Hi Elli -

Welcome! What fun to have a jazz singer in the forum. You'll find people here with all kinds of businesses.

The course is a lot of work, but really valuable. I encourage you to work through all the exercises, and post samples or questions for feedback from the others on the list.

Best!

Geri

Hi, everyone!

My name is Laura M. Crawford. I am a newbie to this forum. I just signed up for the 7 day business turnaround course. I'm excited and look forward to learning all I can from this group and this course.

I am a freelance writer and freelance copywriter living in a small Minnesota town. I have launched my business, Crawford Writing & Marketing Services, and I am looking forward to making my dream of working from home a reality, especially with gas prices being what they are!

I worked as a paralegal in the personal injury field for a number of years, and when I was fired from my last position, I realized that I wasn't cut out for that field of law. I tried to get a job in a different field, interviewed with a few firms here and there and was never hired for any of the positions I applied for. For the past 3 years I have worked in a plastics factory to pay the bills, dreaming of the day I can write full time from home.

I have written for online magazines and I am a regular contributor to my hometown paper, Zimmerman Today. But I wanted to try something different, so I enrolled in the AWAI Accelerated Course for Copywriting and fell in love with marketing, copywriting and learning how to write to sell products and services. I was astounded that there aren't any courses on copywriting being taught anywhere else, or if they are, they don't cover as much as this one does.

Since September 2007, I have been mentored by a copywriting coach who lives here in Minnesota. She is what I aspire to become in my own writing career: smart, funny, savvy, and she is able to write and make money from her home. She also has her own publishing company Filbert Publishing. I have learned so much from her and signed up for this to continue my education in the marketing aspect of my writing career.

I'm in the process of setting up my websites and a couple of online magazines of my own. I also have a 3 books in the works that I hope to have ready to launch by the end of this year.

If you have any questions about me, or if there is any way I can help anyone else in the group, please don't hesitate to ask. I am also open to any suggestions or comments from those who have succeeded before me. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Laura M. Crawford
