Default Landing page question

Hello all,
I am new to simple-ology. Yesterday I completed my first 20 days. Took me 21 days. Any way I am involved in an internet business and I want to create a landing page. What I want it to do is track leads and track results from different ads.
What I am finding by looking around the web is people who want to give advice on running ads, wording etc. heck I have Mark Joyner who needs them. Any way I am looking for the mechanics of building a landing page. I am not looking for copy writing advice outside of what I have already found.
If any one can help point me in a straight line I would greatly appreciate it.

Also, I am very excited about my future prospects now. Getting involved with simple-ology is mind blowing. After so many self help and improvement programs I finally have a nuts and bolts kind of way to build a future that includes getting my desires. I am gaining the ability to create my life instead of just reacting to it.
I am very happy to meet you all.

Hi Tom,

whilst I am still a newbie when it comes to internet marketing, squeeze pages and whatnots, what did come to me was have you tried google analytics? There is tons of statistical data available to you there, I have only just scratched the surface with it. It's free too, so have a look, study all the info available and see if it is what you are looking for.

Not really clear on what you are asking for - are you asking for help in creating a page, or help in getting the stats? If you can get a page/domain etc up, google analytics can help you with the rest of it.

If you are asking how to get a page up... have a look through this forum, there is tons and tons of resources here around that! All else fails, give me a yodel with a specific question - I am a web and database developer (yes, a geek!) by trade, so should be able to help you out, although I am not particularly familiar with resources available in the northern hemisphere.

Welcome to the realm of simpleology Congrats for getting the first 20 days done in 21 - no mean feat!

cheers
Teresa

Teresa,
I want to be able to collect names and emails with my landing page so I can track the results of ads, conversions etc. I also want to build my opt in data base to send reminders and follow up sales.
I will check out Google Analytics.
Thank you for your help
Tom

Default Landing Page basics

There's a lot to learn once you get there, but all the basics are a capability of the "aweber" system of list/customer management. The heart of the system is an "autoresponder" that adds your customers to your database (actually you can have dozens of separate databases, and in the long run I strongly recommend developing multiple sources of income if you want to "make a living" on the internet).
They have "bits" that you can add to the tracking of emails sent out, which ones get "clicks" on their links (sometimes these seem to mess up, like including extra text in the URL that was just "next to" the link, but generally this a TOP quality service and more often than not if something goes wrong it is the user's error).
The "one shoping cart" is a "purchase processing" system that allows you to do a lot of this as well, but I haven't used them, I've just seen them around. Apparently they use "cookies" to store information on the user/customer machine and it often "chokes" on my computer's settings (I allow only certain cookies).

Check out http://www.aweber.com for yourself. It is inexpensive and their reputation is great.

Default Landing Pages/Squeeze Pages

Hi, we new people can get bogged down in terminology.I am probably the least qualified to give advice, however someone once said "none of us is smart enough to remember all that he knows".Okay my advice is 1.Go to NVU.Com when you get there be careful.2.Go to Smartftp.com.If you have any probs Google them baby Google is our best friend that's a secret. Once you've got those two things installed get in touch with me and we will complete the picture together.Absolutely no charge. Oh, by the way follow the instructions and be careful to download the elements which are compatible with your PC or Laptop(what works for windows doesn't in alot of cases work with Apple). Can't wait to hear from you. In my experience, which isn't great but was sometimes painful; is that the consciencious people that I follow have showed me where to get alot of software for free, while people I wouldn't necessarily give the time of day charge, why? because they can!
All the best, if you find a better solution use it,don't feel obligated to get back to me,we'll catch up one day!
Peace.

"The Cat".

I am using the Google Analytic tool that allows me to experiment with different page layouts of the same content. I am testing a sales page using an A and B page to see which one converts. If you have an analytic's account, it's under the Google Optimizer. They track everything for me and very simple to use. You can do more extensive testing than the A/B too.
