Goals revised Having a clearly defined goal is a great concept in the areas where agoal is definable. If you want a car or a house, $1,000,00o in the bank, write a book and so on - clear understanding of what you want works just great. It worked many times in my life and I love the concept. But - there are cases where the goal is actually a process and the only thing you can do is stick to that process. Here is an example - a life of a real musician. You have to practice because you know you have to practice to get better every day. If you want to sell millions of CD's, it isn't a music goal, it is a business goal. If you want to win a competition - it is a business goal. There are many great musicians that never won any competition (and , anyway competitions in music are just stupid. in my opinion. If you want to get a job in high paying group or orchestra - this is also a business goal. I'm talking from my own experience - I am amusician and fairly successful Network marketer. In business I try to work with clearly defined goals, in music I mostly have only a daily goal - be better tomorrow than I am today. |
