Anyways, I'm not going to go into a whole lot of advice, but maybe I can ask you a few simple questions: - Can you define what exactly is bad? Try to differentiate between the facts and what is a judgement. After you answer there, you should not ask that question again. - If you really think about, what good stuff have you got going for you? I think you've made a good start by coming to the forum - trying to surround yourself with positive people. Perhaps there are other positive people you can hang around or talk to... Importantly, you need to do something, and keep doing something(s). Little things to start off are just as important as the big things that come later. Many times we go through life all messed up and all we can keep thinking is "why are we so messed up?". The important thing to think of is WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO ABOUT IT? Hope that puts a little spark in your day :{D Please share how things are going - be assured that someone out here is listening. All of us go through bad days sometimes; you are not alone. Very important to respect yourself. If you don't respect yourself, no one else can respect you. I respect you for taking the action to reach out here to other people. I hope that helps. Keep doing Simpleolgy and I bet you'll be in a much better place in a few weeks. Have fun with Simpleology and best of luck in all areas in your life. You do have somethings to be grateful for that I can tell without personally knowing you. You can read, you can write, you can use the internet. Focus on positives in your life, and you will pull yourself up. Another item for your list. People in here are showing you that we care about you! | 09-07-2007, 09:45 AM | | | | Join Date: Jul 2007 Posts: 80 | | Options In addition to the suggestions and encouragement above, I wonder whether you want to consider professional advice. This could be seeing a mental health counselor or simply reading a book. I've found going to a bookstore and browsing the self-help books (or reading excerpts on Amazon) to see if one fits for the way I feel to be useful at times. You could actually be suffering from serious depression and need some professional advice. I've certainly been discouraged quite a bit recently myself. I know I'm spread too thin and I steal time to do an activity and then if I don't see instant great results, I get discouraged. Not a healthy scenario. I'm working through Simpology also. Changes do not come overnight, but taking the first step is a big one and simply stating the problem and reaching out, as you have already done is a very big step. Be sure to touch base and let us know how you are doing! | 09-07-2007, 11:18 AM | | Free and Clear | | Join Date: Aug 2007 Location: Fairfax, VA Posts: 8 | | You can get inspired! Hey, what would happen if you believed you could change things? There would probably be fireworks!! The only thing you have to change is the way you feel - if you really want to do that stand up, look at the ceiling and smile. This is simpleology, right. Then, it will be helpful to not make assumptions like "I know people don't respect me". We never know what's going on in someone's life and we usually assume we're at the center of their lives - rarely is that true. If you read this you must be motivated or maybe inspired :-) | 09-28-2007, 03:14 PM | | Board Neophyte | | Join Date: Jan 2007 Location: California (Central Coast) Posts: 4 | | Try focusing on the things that are going right in your life, the things you can be grateful for. Then get busy with your daily praxis... - Sean PS: One of my favorite quotes that I find to help motivate me make great decisions each day...that in turn make for great memories and experiences next week: "The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. Sure, I could easily get down from time to time, but instead I choose to focus on gratitude for the good health we DO have, our humor and beneficence - and the spirit of community available to us all as sentient beings, among other non-self-centric, uplifting subjects of attention. What the heck - It works for me. Hope this is useful for you. /clay "When I was younger, I modelled clever people. *Now that I'm older, I model kind people." - Cotton, 2007 __________________ Brother Clay http://claycotton.com "The Good-Time Pianoman You Just Couldn't Resist" - Somebody you know but probably don't know that you know... Focus is the key word. Focus on one thing, get it done, then move on. DO NOT go from one project to another until that first project is completed. An uncompleted project has no value. A completed project that is crap still has more value then an uncompleted project. You can't sell an unfinished ebook or product. You can sell an ebook that hasn't sold as well as you thought as long as it's finished. "Nothing" has no value. "Something" has some value. It's really simple guys. Take an idea and run with it. Funny thing is, finishing a project is quicker even if it doesn't sell well then procrastinating and getting nothing done at all. So if you think your idea is a gamble, just do it anyway, you will get it done quicker and find out for sure if it will sell or not then it will take to procrastinate and get nothing done. Just focus and get something done. Do something guys. Stop thinking about being a success and be it. People tell me I have a brilliant mind and I laugh. If only you knew what went on in my head! I'm no genius. I am just so damn focused and so damn sure of myself in everything I do. Everyone is looking for the next big thing. Stop it. Create a product in a market you know something about or reverse engineer it if you have to, create a good sales system or get someone to do that for you and FREAKING FOCUS on getting as many customers as you can, anyway you can. Have a one track mind. Focus focus focus focus. We’ve all been there. Sitting at the computer, staring at the screen, a great idea (or several) spinning around in your head. You’ve found the perfect niche. You’re excited at the prospect of dominating it. You start to type, excited about all the money you’re going to make once you get your articles written, your blog set up, your membership site in place, etc. But wait…the phone’s ringing...gotta get that. It might be an important call, you rationalize to yourself. A few minutes later (after you’ve typed a couple more sentences), you notice that 5 new emails have arrived in your mailbox. You’d better check those quick, you tell yourself. Back to the article again and, oh wait, your stomach’s growling and suddenly you remember that unfinished pint of raspberry mocha Haagen- Dazs in the fridge… better take a quick break and have some. Okay, back to the computer. Now, where were you….??? Recognize the pattern? Been there, done that? Before you know it three hours have passed and you’ve typed a whopping one and a half paragraphs on your first article for your next blog. Not very productive, are you? Tinges of guilt creep into your mind and you begin to berate yourself for letting precious time go to waste (not to mention the five pounds you’ve gained from all that Haagen-Dazs!). No wonder you’re not making much money online, you grumble to yourself. If it takes this long to get one article written, things are looking pretty hopeless. Focus…that elusive ability to shut out everything else while you burn through your list of tasks with lightening speed, oblivious to everything else around you. Focus…a trait that you know is not only important to being effective in general, but one that is absolutely crucial to your success as an internet marketer. However, you can’t quite seem to maintain it for more than a few short minutes at a time. You have the best of intentions, the desire, the ambition, tons of creativity and intelligence (at least that’s what your mom always told you), and you’ve just found the hottest new niche market ever, yet you can’t seem to stay focused long enough to complete one short 400 word article. It seems you have the attention span of a gnat on a caffeine buzz! Well, don’t despair; there is hope for even the most attention-challenged! Laser-sharp focus is an ability that can be acquired. It is not something that is either in your genes or you’re out of luck. Granted, it may come more easily for some than others, but don’t give up if you are one of the “others”. Developing or increasing your ability to focus is not that difficult once you start taking the necessary steps. And while the steps are quite simple, they do take some consistent effort on your part. First, though, you need to look at the various things that may be getting in the way of your ability to focus or concentrate on the task at hand. Awareness is always the first step towards bringing about change." I agree with you Bro Clay Goodworthy! Here are some ideas: 1. Get hungry. Don't overeat.. stay hungry! 2. Dream a Big Positive Goal. 3. Focus on each Target: 4. Decide to be passionate and relentless in your striving! Funny story about #2. Dream a Big Positive Goal. I dreamed I wanted to run my own search engine. I must've seen the potential for huge traffic there. I envied the Google guys... ? (And Mark Joyner had sold 'Search Hound' way back for about 7 million - is that correct?) Anyway, being an Adsense affiliate, I designed a good Search Box inside Adsense, then ctrl+c and ctrl+v later.... I had pasted that search box into an Australian NICHE index page - - Lo and behold I was the proud owner of my own search engine, powered by Gooogle and without support hassles! So sometimes a goal can be achieved in a relatively simple way. I added content in the form of articles about animals, zoos, Sydney, flights to Australia, accom., etc. START a hungry passionate task->target->goal | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | All times are GMT -5.
