Do I Need to Offer a Free Ebook?

I'm offering a free CD that explains how the healthy coffee I'm promoting can be used to help with weight loss.

I made a squeeze page to capture email addresses, and put people in my autoresponder, then asked them in the first email to provide their address so I can send them the CD.

I know it might make more sense to let people download an mp3 file, but the CD system has been researched and decided on by the team I'm working with, and presently is my only option.

The question I have is: will this system work for collecting addresses, or as someone has told me, would it be much more effective to offer a free ebook or report on weight loss or health, send 5 or 6 emails, talk up the CD, and then ask for their address?

I took a your site, and my question for you is who you're targeting.

If you're targeting the general weight loss market, then it might be worth testing the ebook, and move them to the healthy coffee cd.

However, if you're targeting the people already searching for the coffee (and I'm sure there are plenty of people who are) then you'd want to probably stick with just the squeeze page.

I don't know what the best solution is, but I would recommend you try testing it out so you can find out for sure.

I was curious to ask the question above. If everyone is doing the same thing and no-one is having huge success then maybe try something different.
