Question Just checking in

Boy it's quiet here, where IS everybody? I am getting worried....

I hope we haven't all dropped off here - six months in and where's the momentum?

I have started myfirstlist Michael, but have stalled due to lack of funds... bought some domain names but can't get them hosted just yet.

Just started looking at MJ's Author stuff... haven't read it yet, wanted to post this first. About to look into blogging.

I need your support guys - I applied for a job yesterday, yes a J O B. We are seriously cash strapped at the moment, and I am looking at getting a job just to get income moving. Really don't want to work fulltime in a job that is not my passion and a bit dull, but I have mouths to feed and a house to build.

Ironic really, next month or so, hubby will get enough money in to last us a year, that's the way his business works, and once we get ahead, we can manage that, it's just getting in front that is the hard bit. At least right now we are not in debt (cept for the normal stuff, mortgage etc), so the money we get will be putting us in front, not playing catchup.

Help me stay focussed on entrepreneurial stuff! It's the way I want to go, and I really know I can, just at times like this when money is scarce, I feel I have to take on getting a job just to pay the bills and feed the kids.

cheers and thanks for listening (again!)
Teresa

Hi Theresa! I'm here.

I've been going through so much stuff internally, and I am finally coming around. I don't know if it is the spring coming or what.

Last year I was doing a little of this and a little of that, and the dots were everywhere, and only 3 days ago I finally saw how they were supposed to be connected together.

I was so miffed and angry for a while, and just couldn't seem to pull it together. I have not given up.

I never finished my 7 day turn around (fire sale came a day late and a dollar short), I need to finish the blogging thing in here - I had a blog going already but it needs to be cleaned up. Bought 103, but never implemented on a regular basis.

There are some great things in here, and some great people. But through the process I have found that not all of my answers were on this forum. I needed some other information - and I went out and found it.

Just this morning, my head was spinning for the first time with all the stuff I have fallen behind on and need to get done in order to get some of the things that I want. The new plan is coming into focus. I was getting too far ahead of myself, wanting too much too fast. Last week at some point I realized I really have everything I really need. A certain kind of stress finally left me, and there are things I want to do, but the reasons for wanting to do them have changed. I don't know if this makes any sense to you or not.

Anyway, if finances are holding you back from hosting, I will tell you there are other things you can get together (if you haven't already) so when you do get the hosting your site will be up in a snap.

There are a lot of free resources, which you won't want as the end all be all (ie.free websites), but they are there to play with and will make you aware of components you may be missing.

I had to play the role of the bread winner last year, along with trying to keep my stuff moving along that made me happy. I got involved in an affiliate program which began as a dream and turned into a total nightmare - but I was pushed so hard at working my way out of the nightmare that I now see how necessary it was to get me where I am.

Perhaps you will get a job and really learn some things there that will help your business down the road. That is all I can advise with that - take everything you can get from it (not just the money) and make the time spent useful toward where you want to go. Even the most mundane job can have something to offer.

Let me know if you got the blog started! I'd be happy to critique it for you.

Jill

Hi Jill!

how's things going? I am methodically going through 103 (finished 102!) and TIO at present... and working on some other projects, so getting there.

I am working on a website for our local town, a business directory, at the moment. Once that is done, I will get into the blog thing. There is heaps of potential for me that I can see, one step at a time!

I had a job interview last week, and was offered that job, but it is a third of the money that another job I have applied for offers (and rather stressful and braindead) so passed on that one. I don't know if I want to take the other job (hey, I haven't even been offered it yet, going for the interview next week) - I am focussing on between now and the interview getting the IM stuff in order so I can see if I can make a go of it (I know I can, just how long it will take to take off).

cheers and chin up!
Teresa

Cool catchup on the catchup

Hi all,

well, the first day of 90% chance of snow in the mountains today (it didn't, but I just so love this cooler weather!), and at the moment I am the only one out of bed in my household, so I thought I'd take the time for a brief report of where Teresa is at!

It's been rather huge here of late, hence my silence... I have just launched two websites (well, sorta kinda, they are advertised in our local paper next week) which I have had in the making for the past two years.

One was a dream since we moved here, a business directory that locals can utilise, however, also targeted at people moving here. We are in the middle of nowhere, beautiful but remote, and nobody in this country has heard of Tumbarumba, but that is changing - the opportunities in this pretty little country town are huge, cool climate wine, tourism, skiing, largest softwood mill in the southern hemisphere, heaps of stuff! (It's at http://tumbarumbabiz.com.au if you want to have a look - still in its infancy, I have yet to push the marketing side of it to get local businesses and services to sign up for it)

The other website was also a dream... http://tumbarumba.com - I was especially excited to get hold of this domain name, and to be able to start building this website - I had to pay a premium for the name as it was through a broker, however, I am going to use that fact to actually market the desirability of the address.

I am going to use the one to leverage and send traffic to the other, both ways, plus use my other websites to send people to each other, they can complement each other really well.

My dream with this is to show my support and confidence in our local industry here in town, and to help those who are less able to get on the net to get a leg up into cyberspace. I am thrilled to be able to do this, and have the work I have done through the simpleology courses to thank for this! Plus Tellman's stuff, and the other great resources I am working through at present too, they are all fantastic resources, without which I would never have even dreamed attempting any of this!

On on now - this is all exciting and exhilirating - my family's lives are turning around for the better, and things are really looking up for us. I know that we are capable of great things, and this year is the year of making them happen!

I hope you are all having a good experience with stuff too! Would love to hear how others are going.

cheers
Teresa

Teresa,

Haven't been on this forum in awhile, but I remembered your name from awhile ago and decided to see what you've been up to. WOW! What a cool idea & website! I love what you did and am very excited for you, your family & community.

I too, love where we live, but it's on the water and it's kind of quaint and I want it to stay that way so I'd never put up a website about it. However, there's a place I'd like to retire in the future that could possibly use a website like yours. I'll be interested to see what develops from your site.

All best wishes,
Hilary

I did it!!!

I put my spiel out to our local Rotary tonight - telling them about my vision for our area and these websites.

I expected that any adverse opinions would be kept to themselves, however, I was delighted by some of the comments I did receive. One Rotarian stood up and said in front of everyone how inspired he felt after hearing what I had to say about the potential of our local area, and that made it all worth while! I was hoping to convey the message of how inspired I was about all of this, and that I saw it as a community effort.

I was pretty pleased - this was way out of my comfort zone, and well worth it. It's gonna be all good from here on in!

Hey Teresa,

yeah it's quite in here. Well for me personally I've been busy the last few months with my newborn babygirl. Now we've sort of all found our balance here, I've sort of 3-4 months of new material to go through, which i'll be doing in the next few weeks.
I'm also on Tellman's Listbuilding Club, which is great imo. The only thing I seem to miss there is a forum like this one, where people can share their ideas and progress.

Hey here's a thing,

I want you to make a list of all your assets that you already have in your life which will make this entrepreneurial stuff work out great for you.

Sit down and think about it, write down everything.. how about starting with a list of 30 assets, no less.

Have fun

Bart
